On 31 March 2017 at around 10:00 am (Myanmar Time), the military and border guard police (BGP) jointly rounded up in Doedan' village track of northern Maungdaw township and arrested more than 100 villagers.
Two of those arrestees were reportedly identified as:
1) Idiris (20), s/o Mohammed Hakim
2) Auli Ullah (35), s/o Sayed Amin
The villagers who escaped from the arrest said that they have no idea why the military and the BGP are raiding their houses and arrest the villagers. It was all of very instantly. They couldn't out from home and really terrifying..
Another 9 villagers were arrested and taken away by the military and BGP forces by 5pm of the same day and identified as:
1) Mohammed Ullah (50), s/o Mohammed,
2) Idiris (20), s/o Mohammed Hakim (20),
3) Farid s/o Zakariya
4) Rafiq s/o Zakariya
5) Salim s/o Zakariya (3,4 and 5 are brothers from a same family)
6) Iliyas (25), s/o Mohammed Ullah
7) Mv. Hussain
8) Yaasin
9) Ibadullah
3) Farid s/o Zakariya
4) Rafiq s/o Zakariya
5) Salim s/o Zakariya (3,4 and 5 are brothers from a same family)
6) Iliyas (25), s/o Mohammed Ullah
7) Mv. Hussain
8) Yaasin
9) Ibadullah
According to the state counsellor, Ms. Suu Kyi's office information committee Facebook as shown the photo below, these innocent villagers are falsely branded as ''accused" arrested during 'clearance operation' despite the government officially announced such operation ended by 15 Feb 2017.
